  1. My mum and I really enjoyed seeing your work at Wisley Gardens today. It was a lovely surprise to find it there.
I loved the tortoise even though one young girl called him grumpy :-)

  2. Hi Alison, Just wanted to mention how much I enjoyed your Wisley butterfly sculptures (although actually I think its the caterpillars I love the best, so full of character). They really are wonderful & completely made my day. The butterfly stake I bought from you now has pride of place in my pen pot on my desk. Take care & keep creating! Vikki x

    Thanks Vikki :-)

  4. I saw your lovely display at the Molesey Art Society Exhibition today and had quite a debate over which item to buy. I am now the proud owner of a hanging bee. My friend had almost left the exhibition, then he returned for a bee too!

Ah, how lovely, thank you! Alison :-)

  15. Alison worked with children, staff and parents at Kingfield School over 2 workshops to create a lasting sculpture for our new extension. Alison took the school logo, a sun on a hill, as the basis for the sculpture. Alison asked the children and parents to design flowers and animals they would like included, which they willingly did. The workshops were immensely enjoyable and everyone was fully involved cutting, hammering and filing; all having a thoroughly enjoyable time. Alison took the metal shapes home to her studio to weld and paint and returned to school to put the sculpture together, in time for the official opening of the new extension. Wow! What a result! We are all so proud of the work and are extremely grateful to Alison for all her hard work and creativity.

  20. Dear Alison,
I just wanted to tell you what a tremendous "hit" the parrot has been. My husband is so delighted with it. The parrot is amazing as he is filled with so much "character" he's become a real friend in such a short space of time - we all love him!
Thank you so much for all your hard work and endeavours to create him, we can't wait to be able to deliver him to his final home in the Grenadines.
Thank you once again - he's fantastic!

    All the best.

  21. Alison created our beautiful sculpture "The Knowledge Tree" at Hersham Library. The sculpture was commissioned by Friends of Hersham Library and generously funded by The RC Sherrif Trust, Elmbridge Borough Council, Hersham residents and local organisations. The project involved
five local schools and 36 children designers. After many months of
preparation on our side, Alison started working on the actual sculpture in June 2009 and had it completed on time and incredibly gorgeous for our unveiling ceremony in October 2009. The sculpture is huge: 2.5m by 3m. It is made of more than 60 components all welded or fastened together or to the wall. There are 45 leaves on the tree. From day one Alison was extremely receptive to and supportive of our ideas. She loved working with the children and was especially careful to respect their drawings while re-creating them in 3D. The sculpture is a joy to behold and you could look at it for hours and still find new details to enjoy. Alison is not only an extremely gifted sculptress but also a wonderful, cheerful, kind person to work with. She was always ready to incorporate new material, ran workshops for local children and an additional workshop for OAPs, which was much enjoyed by all. The whole project has been a wonderful success and a credit to her creative and practical abilities. Alison, you are a star! I hope many more schools and libraries are able to boast an Alison Catchlove sculpture in the future! On behalf of all of us a Hersham Library, A HUGE THANK YOU!

  26. I received two magpies, some mushrooms and some lovely flowers as a wedding gift. I have them all displayed in my garden and have had lots of lovely comments from neighbours and people passing by. Hopefully I will soon be adding some of your delightful bumble bees, dragonflies and maybe a butterfly or two to my collection.
    Thanks!
